Tragic Car Crash Claims Six Lives, Including Two Children, in Johnson County, Texas

CLEBURNE, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) – A devastating car accident in Johnson County, Texas, has resulted in the loss of six lives, including two young children, and left three others injured.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the collision occurred when a minivan and a pickup truck collided head-on near County Road 1119 and U.S. Highway 67, just west of Cleburne.

According to the preliminary report, the tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when the 17-year-old driver of the pickup truck, heading southbound on U.S. Highway 67 near County Road 1119, mistakenly entered the northbound lane in a no-passing area. Regrettably, the minivan, traveling north in the same vicinity, collided with the pickup truck.

Importantly, Barri was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, emphasizing the critical importance of seatbelt usage for safety.

The other deceased victims were identified as individuals hailing from Alpharetta, Georgia:

  • 9-year-old girl
  • 10-year-old boy
  • 36-year-old man
  • 60-year-old woman

They were rushed to Fort Worth hospitals for immediate medical attention. Notably, the driver of the pickup truck was wearing his seatbelt, while the other occupant was reportedly not.

In order to identify the victims’ next-of-kin, the Texas Department of Public Safety is collaborating with the Georgia State Police.
