Texas Teenager Charged with Homicide Confessed to Planning Attack, Court Documents Reveal

A 17-year-old Texas teenager, Connor Hilton, who stands accused of shooting two individuals at his Friendswood residence, one of whom tragically lost their life, reportedly admitted to police that he had been contemplating committing a homicide for an extended period. The shocking details emerged in recently released court documents.

The Tragic Incident

According to the complaint filed against Hilton, the incident occurred on Saturday night at his home when he was displaying a revolver to the two victims. Allegedly, without provocation, Hilton shot both individuals in the head, leaving them severely injured.

During the terrifying ordeal, a third person, who was present at the house, managed to hide in the bathroom and promptly dialed 911. This individual reported hearing two gunshots, providing crucial information to the authorities.

Discovery and Arrest

Upon responding to the distress call, law enforcement officers found Hilton visibly distraught outside his residence. When questioned about the situation, Hilton nodded to confirm injuries and indicated that two teenagers were inside the house, whom he believed to be dead.

Inside the property, an officer discovered the two male victims, identified as Ethan Riley, 18, and Benjamin Bliek, 19, lying on the floor with gunshot wounds. Additionally, a revolver was found on a nearby table.

The 911 caller, who had been hiding in the bathroom, informed the second officer that they had overheard Hilton pass by crying and expressing remorse, saying, ‘What have I done?’

Legal Proceedings and Confession

The victims were immediately transported to local hospitals in critical condition. Sadly, Ethan Riley succumbed to his injuries the following day, while Benjamin Bliek remains in critical condition.

Initially, Hilton was charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury by the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. After posting a $1 million bond, Hilton was released but subsequently re-arrested for murder on Monday at his residence. He is currently held without bond at the Galveston County Jail.

During an interview with the police, Hilton allegedly confessed to pulling the trigger, stating that there was no altercation or disagreement preceding the incident. Shockingly, he revealed that he had contemplated and desired to commit a homicide for a significant period. Hilton also claimed to have convinced his mother to purchase a handgun, intending to use it on either himself or someone else.

Legal Defense and Family Statement

Jennifer Carpenter, Hilton’s attorney, has filed a motion seeking a hearing to determine the admissibility of his statements to the police. The defense argues that these statements were not obtained and preserved in compliance with state law.

Scheduled for a status conference on February 2, Connor Hilton continues to face legal proceedings.

In a statement released by Hilton’s family through their attorney, they expressed deep condolences to the victims’ families and acknowledged the immense impact this devastating situation has had on everyone involved. The family also thanked those who have shown support and requested continued prayers for all affected parties.
