UP News: Woman Stabs Husband in Eyes with Scissors over Cup of Tea

Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh – A shocking incident unfolded in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday when a woman brutally stabbed her husband in the eyes with a pair of scissors. The gruesome attack came after the husband innocently asked his wife for a cup of tea. The couple, who had been married for three years, had been experiencing a strained relationship and frequently engaged in domestic disputes.

The victim, identified as Ankit, had previously faced a complaint of assault filed by his wife and in-laws just three days before the horrific incident occurred. On that fateful day, Ankit’s simple request for a cup of tea ignited the wrath of his wife, who reacted by ruthlessly attacking him with the pair of scissors before fleeing the scene.

Upon hearing Ankit’s agonizing screams, his sister-in-law and children rushed to his aid and promptly informed the local police. Ankit was immediately rushed to a nearby community health centre, where medical professionals decided to transfer him to Meerut for further treatment. The authorities are currently making strenuous efforts to apprehend the absconding accused.

This heart-wrenching incident bears a striking resemblance to a recent tragedy that occurred in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Just a few days ago, a man beheaded his 50-year-old wife following an argument over tea. The accused, Dharmvir Jatav, was eventually arrested after his son bravely lodged a complaint against him. The victim in that case was identified as Sundri, Dharmvir’s wife.

According to the couple’s son, the argument erupted when Sundri prepared tea earlier than expected. In a desperate attempt to save their mother, the son and his two sisters intervened, but their father, Dharmvir, threatened to harm them. Fearing for their lives, they were left with no choice but to leave. Dharmvir, wielding a sword, fled towards the sugarcane crop fields, determined to evade capture.

This distressing incident in Baghpat serves as a reminder of the alarming rise in domestic violence cases in Uttar Pradesh. Such incidents not only pose a threat to the safety and well-being of individuals but also highlight the urgent need for greater awareness and support for victims of domestic abuse.
