According to detectives, Jackson had moved from Gulf Boulevard to Bath Club Boulevard, where he used a rock to smash the front window of a residence. Once inside, he engaged in a physical struggle with a 74-year-old woman who resided there.

Hearing his wife’s distress, John Treadwell, aged 76, rushed to her aid and witnessed the altercation. Treadwell retrieved his firearm and fired a single shot, hitting Jackson in the right shoulder.

Fleeing the scene, Jackson attempted to break into another nearby property but failed. Deputies, responding to the 911 calls, apprehended Jackson as he ran down the street.

Jackson sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital. Upon release, he will be transferred to Pinellas County Jail. He now faces charges of burglary with battery and attempted residential burglary. His bond has been set at $160,000, as per available records.

The woman involved in the struggle with Jackson suffered minor injuries, confirmed the deputies.

Jackson’s criminal history reveals multiple incarcerations in Florida state prison for offenses encompassing drug-related crimes, theft, and assault, among others. He was recently released in November following a sentence served for aggravated assault with a weapon.
