VADNIS HEIGHTS, Minn. Tousley Motorsports Reopens After Christmas Day Joyride by Real-Life Grinch

VADNIS HEIGHTS, Minn. — Tousley Motorsports was back in business on Wednesday, bouncing back from a shocking incident that occurred on Christmas Day. The dealership became the target of a real-life Grinch who wreaked havoc on their premises.

According to Salesperson Jon Osowski, the surveillance videos captured a scene straight out of a Hollywood movie. The audacious act unfolded at around 6 a.m. when an unidentified man crashed through multiple garage doors on a stolen ATV and proceeded to go on a wild joyride within the store.

“When you watch the videos, the surveillance, it honestly looks like a Hollywood movie,” Salesperson Jon Osowski said.

As he wandered through the showroom, the perpetrator even tried on clothes and a helmet. Prioritizing safety, he made sure to wear a helmet before smashing through the garage doors.

Eventually, the man fled through the back of the store, crashing through a fence. Fortunately, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Deputies were in close proximity and swiftly apprehended the suspect. The individual has been identified as 32-year-old Austin Erickson from Little Canada.

Osowski believes the perpetrator achieved speeds of up to 40 miles per hour while wreaking havoc inside the store. He knocked over merchandise, went on a shopping spree, and even drove over motorcycles, leaving chaos in his wake.

“Everything was disheveled. All the aisles were just littered with material, helmets, jackets,” Osowski said.

On Christmas Day, dedicated members of the Tousley Motorsports team spent their holiday cleaning up the aftermath of the incident. Osowski estimates the damage and losses to be around $500,000.

Amidst the chaos, Osowski expressed gratitude that no one was present inside the store at the time of the incident.

“We have 60 people that work here. You know, we’re family-run, it’s a family-run dealership. So we all pitched in, and we’ll get through it,” he said.

On Wednesday, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office charged Austin Erickson with property damage, burglary, and theft of a motor vehicle.
