Tragic Incident in Colorado Springs: Mother Sought After Two Children Fatally Wounded

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Authorities are desperately searching for a mother of three children following a heartbreaking incident in an apartment located in northeast Colorado Springs last week.

In the early hours of December 19, the police received a distressing 911 call reporting a burglary at a complex situated on Palomino Ranch Point near Tutt and Stetson Hills. Upon arriving at the scene, officers made a horrific discovery – two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, had tragically lost their lives. Additionally, an 11-year-old girl and an adult woman were found injured.

The adult woman has been identified as Kimberlee Singler, a 35-year-old who is the mother of all three children residing in the apartment. Investigators have gathered sufficient evidence and have obtained an arrest warrant for Kimberlee Singler. She faces multiple charges, including:

  • 2 counts – 18-3-102(1)(a), First Degree Murder, a Class One Felony (F1)

  • 1 count – 18-2-101, Criminal Attempt – First Degree Murder (18-3-102(1)(f)), a Class Two Felony (F2)
  • 2 counts – 18-6-401(7)(a)(i), Child Abuse, a Class Two Felony (F2)
  • 1 count – 18-6-401(7)(a)(iii), Child Abuse, a Class Three Felony (F3)
  • 1 count – 18-3-202, Assault in the First Degree, a Class Three Felony (F3)

Further investigation by the police revealed that the initial report of a burglary was unfounded.

The court has set a bond of $10,000,000 for Singler. However, she was last seen on Saturday, and her current whereabouts remain unknown, causing heightened concern among authorities.
