Upon observing the individual’s unusual behavior, the officer approached him and engaged in a conversation. After a few minutes, the officer discovered that the man had a brick in his pocket. Subsequently, the suspect discarded the brick but also revealed a knife, placing it on the ledge. Sensing the potential danger, the officer promptly called for backup and secured the knife.

However, the officer’s vigilance did not stop there. Noticing the handle of a machete concealed beneath the suspect’s clothing, the officer drew his service weapon and instructed the man to raise his hands. Complying with the officer’s orders, the suspect was disarmed, and law enforcement successfully apprehended him.

The detained individual has been identified as 23-year-old Jose Leonardo Marquez. Capitol Police have charged Marquez with carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon, highlighting the severity of the situation.
