San Antonio police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying two individuals described as ‘persons of interest’ in connection with a tragic shooting that resulted in the death of a missing pregnant woman and her 22-year-old boyfriend.

Authorities announced on Thursday that the male victim has been identified as Matthew Guerra. Investigators, along with family members, believe the woman in the vehicle is 18-year-old Savanah Nicole Soto, who was carrying her unborn son named Fabian.

In an effort to identify the two individuals who were observed near the couple’s vehicle, investigators released surveillance footage captured in a residential neighborhood in San Antonio where the bodies were discovered on Tuesday evening.

The surveillance video shows the couple’s Kia Optima slowly approaching a dark-colored Chevy Silverado. The Kia briefly stops, and the driver exits the Silverado to interact with the couple. Another individual is also seen exiting the victim’s Kia Optima, but it remains unclear whether this person leaves the area alone or with the driver of the truck.

The video concludes with the Kia Optima leaving the vicinity.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus did not confirm whether the couple was alive or deceased at the time the video was captured, as the investigation is ongoing.

According to the medical examiner, Guerra succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, but the exact manner of his death is still under investigation, as stated by Police Chief McManus during Thursday’s press conference.

Investigators have identified the other person found in the vehicle as a “full-term pregnant female,” according to a post on the department’s official Facebook page.

Police Chief McManus stated, “I believe we can be confident that the second victim was Savanah.”
