Alcohol and Road Conditions Ruled Out as Possible Cause of Deadly Crash South of Carstairs, Say RCMP

In a tragic incident, two teenagers from Didsbury lost their lives in a single-vehicle rollover that occurred south of Carstairs. The collision took place at approximately 5:08 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting the Didsbury RCMP to respond to the scene at Township Road 292 and Range Road 14 in Mountain View County.

According to RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff, emergency responders discovered the lifeless bodies of a 16-year-old male and a 14-year-old female, both residents of Didsbury. It is important to note that the deceased individuals were not related, as confirmed by Savinkoff in an interview with the Albertan newspaper.

The vehicle involved in the accident was a pickup truck. While the investigation is ongoing, the authorities have already ruled out alcohol and road conditions as potential causes of the crash.

Savinkoff stated, “Road conditions were fine,” indicating that external factors were not to blame for the unfortunate incident.

The investigation into the rollover will encompass various aspects, including examining the roadway, skid marks, and other evidence to determine the speed and factors leading to the accident.
