Chicago Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspects in Fatal Shooting

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — In the aftermath of a tragic incident that claimed the life of a security guard in Chicago’s Chatham neighborhood, the Chicago Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying three individuals believed to be connected to the murder.

The shooting took place on December 20th in the parking lot of Chatham Village Square mall, located on East 87th Street near South Cottage Grove Avenue, according to officials.

Authorities believe that an argument between the offenders and the security guard, identified as Fontaine Harris, ultimately led to the fatal shooting.

Chicago police is seeking to identify the three individuals shown here in connection to a fatal shooting last week on the city’s South Side.

Tragically, Fontaine Harris succumbed to his injuries at the University of Chicago Hospital.

The Chicago Police Department has released security footage depicting the three individuals entering a retail store. The trio can be seen quickly grabbing several items from the front of the store before making their exit.

While the shooting itself is not captured in the shared footage, authorities have released an image of a stolen vehicle that is believed to be connected to the crime.

The stolen vehicle in question is a gray Nissan Maxima with the license plate CW 25426.
