Auburn Police Arrest 22-Year-Old and 15-Year-Old in Connection with Auto Burglaries
AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – In a recent development, Auburn Police have apprehended Ladarren Howard Jackson, a 22-year-old resident of Auburn, and a 15-year-old from Opelika, Alabama. The arrests were made on Christmas Eve following a report of ongoing auto burglaries in the vicinity of the 500 block of Lee Road 57.

Upon receiving the report, Auburn Police promptly dispatched officers to the scene. As they arrived, they noticed a nearby vehicle occupied by individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions. However, as the officers approached the vehicle, its occupants fled, prompting a pursuit by the police.
The chase ensued until it came to an end near the 2100 block of Lee Road 61. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Ladarren Howard Jackson, abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. The swift actions of the pursuing officers led to the successful apprehension of Jackson. Meanwhile, a Lee County Sheriff’s deputy located the 15-year-old suspect on foot in the vicinity.
Ladarren Howard Jackson faces multiple charges, including three counts of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, two counts of third-degree theft of property, fourth-degree theft of property, and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
As for the 15-year-old, they have been arrested on juvenile complaints for three counts of unlawful breaking and entering into a vehicle, two counts of third-degree theft of property, and fourth-degree theft of property.

Following their arrests, Jackson was taken to the Lee County Jail, where he is currently held on a $16,000 bond. On the other hand, the juvenile suspect was transported to the Lee County Youth Development Center after receiving authorization from the Lee County Juvenile Probate Court.
