Teenagers Stabbed in New York on Christmas Day in Alleged Hate Crime

On Christmas Day, two teenage girls visiting New York from South America were viciously attacked and stabbed by a man who reportedly expressed his desire to see “all white people dead.” The incident occurred at the Grand Central Dining Concours, where the girls were having breakfast, and has left the city reeling in shock and disbelief.

According to law enforcement sources, the assailant, identified as 36-year-old Bronx native Steven Hutcherson, lunged at the 16-year-old girl, stabbing her in the back. He then turned his attention to her 14-year-old sister, stabbing her in the thigh. Shockingly, during the attack, Hutcherson shouted, “I want all the white people dead. I want to sit next to the crackers,” further indicating that this was a racially motivated hate crime.

The girls were immediately rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where they received prompt medical attention for their non-life-threatening injuries. Thankfully, the younger sister has already been discharged from the hospital, as confirmed by Carlos Ortiz, consul general for Paraguay in New York.

However, this shocking incident has raised concerns about the safety of tourists in New York City. Mr Ortiz has warned that the city is “full of these kinds of people,” emphasizing the need for caution when visiting the bustling metropolis.

The suspect, Hutcherson, had been asked to leave the restaurant prior to the attack after displaying erratic behavior. The incident took place around 11:25 am, and it was reported that Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) officers arrived at the scene within 30 seconds, apprehending Hutcherson, who dropped his knife and surrendered to the police.

Shockingly, it has been revealed that Hutcherson had a history of emotional disturbance and had been previously arrested a staggering 17 times. Now, he faces a series of serious charges, including attempted murder, assault, misdemeanor endangerment of a child’s welfare, and criminal possession of a weapon. Hutcherson is set to be arraigned at the Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday, where the full extent of his crimes will be addressed.
