New Orleans Police Identify Two Men Fatally Shot in Recent Incidents

Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office Confirms Victims’ Identities
New Orleans, Louisiana – The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office, under the leadership of Coroner Dwight McKenna, has officially identified two men who lost their lives due to gunshot wounds in separate incidents that occurred last week in New Orleans.
Victim 1: Lacory Johnson
One of the victims, identified as 43-year-old Lacory Johnson, was fatally shot on December 23rd in the Algiers neighborhood. The New Orleans Police Department reported that the incident took place around 4:13 p.m. in the 6400 block of Isadore Street.
Following the shooting, Johnson was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, despite the medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Currently, the New Orleans police have not released any information regarding a suspect in connection with Johnson’s killing.

Victim 2: Sedrick Carter
The second victim has been identified as 45-year-old Sedrick Carter, who was fatally shot on Christmas night in the Mid-City district. The incident occurred around 10:08 p.m. in the 4000 block of Canal Street, close to the intersection with Carrollton Avenue.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, Carter had arranged to meet an unknown individual in a vehicle. However, an altercation broke out between the two parties, resulting in Carter being shot. The unidentified suspect fled the scene, leaving Carter seriously wounded. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Carter tragically lost his life due to the severity of his injuries.
The New Orleans Police Department is actively investigating both incidents, working diligently to gather evidence and identify the individuals responsible for these senseless acts of violence. They urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing justice to the victims and their families.
