Two killed, 11 Injured in Fog-Related Accidents in Toba Tek Singh

TOBA TEK SINGH: On Tuesday, two individuals lost their lives while 11 others sustained injuries in accidents caused by dense fog in Toba Tek Singh.

Fatal Collision at Khanewal

In the first incident, a collision between a trailer and a car resulted in the death of a man and left four others injured. The intense fog near the Qutabpur toll plaza on Lahore Road in Jahanian, Khanewal, led to this tragic incident.

Identified as Muhammad Irfan (35), the deceased was among the four injured car passengers, including two women and two men. Rescue officials promptly shifted them to Jahanian THQ hospital for medical assistance.

Accident near Khurrianwala, Faisalabad

Another mishap occurred in heavy fog near Khurrianwala on Sheikhupura Road in Faisalabad. A car collided with a road divider, causing critical injuries to four individuals. The victims were identified as Shahnaz Bibi (60), her son Tariq (38), her elder brother Shoukat (73), and her daughter-in-law Kausar Perveen. All of them were immediately transferred to Allied Hospital for treatment.

Mini-Truck Mishap at Rakh Branch Canal

Poor visibility due to thick fog resulted in a mini-truck falling into Rakh branch canal near Dijkot, Faisalabad. As a consequence, the driver, Amjad Ali, and two other passengers sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to DHQ hospital for urgent medical care.

Head-On Collision at Khanewal

In yet another incident, two speeding cars collided head-on at Khanewal on Lahore-Multan Road, near Punjab Highway Patrolling Police post. Nasir Mahmood from Lahore tragically lost his life on the spot, while four others suffered injuries and were immediately taken to Kacha Khu Rural Health Centre. The injured victims were identified as Aleem Ahmad, Muhammad Arham, Naila Bibi, and Rasheeda Bibi.

Illegal Slaughterhouse Raided in Gojra

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a raid on an illegal slaughterhouse located in the New Plots locality of Gojra. The authorities discovered and confiscated 610 kg of unwholesome beef. The slaughterhouse, owned by Faqeer Muhammad, had been slaughtering sick and weak animals. The recovered meat was intended to be supplied to shops in Gojra city and its suburbs.

The PFA team disposed of the meat outside the city and handed over Faqeer Muhammad to the Gojra City Police. A case has been registered against him based on the complaint filed by food safety officer Muhammad Faheem Yousaf.

Murder at Barber Shop in Pirmahal

In a tragic incident at Malik Chowk, Pirmahal, a young boy killed his friend over a trivial matter. Imran and Sumair were present at the barber shop for a haircut when their discussion escalated into a heated argument, involving the use of abusive language. Imran, fueled by anger, attacked Sumair with a pair of scissors, causing critical wounds that proved fatal. The police have transported Sumair’s body to the THQ hospital for an autopsy.
