Two Men Shot Dead by Police in Encounter in Tamil Nadu

In a dramatic turn of events, two men accused of murdering a notorious criminal were killed during an encounter with the police in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram district on Wednesday morning.

The fatal incident unfolded when the police, who were attempting to apprehend the suspects in connection with the murder case, were allegedly attacked by the duo identified as Raghuvaran and Karuppu Asain. In response, the law enforcement officers were compelled to resort to gunfire.

The victim of the murder, Prabhakaran, met his untimely demise on Tuesday when a group of assailants targeted him on the bustling Pudhupalayam street in the district. Investigators have since implicated Raghuvaran and Asain in the heinous crime.

Fleeing from the crime scene, the two fugitives sought refuge in a dilapidated building near the newly constructed railway station bridge. However, their hiding place was discovered by the police, who promptly moved in for their arrest. In a desperate bid to escape, Raghuvaran and Asain launched a vicious attack on the officers, wielding a sickle as their weapon of choice.

With the safety of his team at stake, Sub-Inspector Sudhakar, left with no choice, discharged his firearm, fatally injuring both suspects. Rushed to a nearby hospital, medical professionals pronounced them dead shortly after their arrival.

Meanwhile, the brave police officials involved in the encounter, Special Sub-Inspector of Police Ramalingam and Constable Sasikumar, sustained injuries during the altercation and were also admitted to the hospital for treatment.

It is worth noting that both Raghuvaran and Asain had extensive criminal records, with numerous cases registered against them in various police stations. Their involvement in the murder of Prabhakaran adds another dark chapter to their already tainted history.
