Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Five Alpharetta Residents in Johnson County, Texas

JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas – A devastating head-on collision on Tuesday in Johnson County, Texas, has resulted in the loss of five lives, including two young children, from Alpharetta, Georgia.
The tragic incident, which took place on US 67, approximately 50 miles southwest of Dallas, claimed the lives of six people in total, leaving three others injured, including a man from Georgia, as reported by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The initial findings from the ongoing investigation by the sheriff’s office suggest that a white Chevrolet Silverado, heading south on US 67, veered into the northbound lane in a designated no-passing area, resulting in a fatal collision with a Honda Odyssey.
All the victims were occupants of the Honda Odyssey, and their identities have been revealed by the authorities. Among the deceased were a 36-year-old woman, a 64-year-old man, a 60-year-old woman, a 10-year-old boy, and a 9-year-old boy from Alpharetta. The driver of the Odyssey, identified as Rushil Barri, a 28-year-old male from Irving, also lost his life in the tragic accident.

Another passenger, a 26-year-old male from Georgia, was critically injured and immediately transported to a Fort Worth hospital for urgent medical attention. Furthermore, two 17-year-olds, the driver and passenger from Glen Rose, suffered critical injuries and were also rushed to a hospital in Fort Worth.
Authorities in Texas are currently collaborating with the Georgia State Police to locate and notify the next of kin of the victims. Therefore, out of respect for the grieving families, the names of the individuals involved have not been released at this time.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and adhering to traffic regulations. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, aiming to determine any factors that may have contributed to this tragedy.
