Tragic Car Accident Claims Six Lives, Including Two Children, in Cleburne, Texas

CLEBURNE, Texas – A devastating car accident in Johnson County, Texas has left six people dead, including two innocent children, and three others injured. The tragic incident occurred near County Road 1119 and U.S. Highway 67 in Cleburne, causing immense grief and shock in the local community.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the collision took place when a minivan and a pickup truck collided head-on. The crash site is located in the western part of Cleburne, and the exact circumstances leading to the accident are currently under investigation.

Tragically, out of the seven individuals in the minivan, only one person survived the impact and is currently in critical condition. The two occupants of the pickup truck, identified as Luke Resecker and Preston Glass, both 17-year-old boys from Glen Rose, managed to survive the collision but sustained severe injuries. They were promptly transported to hospitals in Fort Worth for immediate medical attention. Resecker, who was driving the pickup truck, was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, while Glass, the passenger, was not.

Based on the preliminary report, it appears that the driver of the pickup truck was travelling southbound on U.S. Highway 67 near County Road 1119 when they entered the northbound lane, despite being in a no-passing area. Tragically, the minivan was also in the same vicinity, travelling north, and the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the devastating loss of life.

The DPS has identified the driver of the minivan as 28-year-old Rushil Barri from Irving, Texas. Sadly, he was one of the individuals who lost their lives in the initial impact. However, it is worth noting that Barri was wearing his seatbelt, which may have played a role in protecting him during the collision.

The five other victims who tragically lost their lives were identified as individuals from Alpharetta, Georgia. This heart-wrenching list includes a 9-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy, a 36-year-old man, a 60-year-old woman, and a 64-year-old man. Their identities have not been disclosed pending notification of their next-of-kin, and the DPS is actively collaborating with Georgia State Police to ensure a proper identification process.

The surviving passenger, who is in critical condition, also hails from Alpharetta, Georgia. The DPS is working diligently to notify the next-of-kin of all the victims involved.
