A tragic car accident in Texas has claimed the lives of six family members from Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district. The deceased were relatives of Mummidivaram MLA P Venkata Satish Kumar from the YSR Congress Party. The accident occurred on Tuesday after Christmas, leaving the community in shock and grief.
According to reports, the accident happened when a truck collided head-on with the car carrying the family. The collision resulted in the immediate death of the six victims. The only survivor, Lokesh, was airlifted to a hospital and is currently in critical condition, receiving treatment.

Preliminary investigations conducted by local authorities have determined that the truck was at fault for the accident. MLA Kumar expressed his sorrow and said, “My uncle, aunt, their daughter, two grandchildren, and another relative died in the accident when a 17-year-old American boy, driving a truck, collided with their car.”
The family had traveled from Atlanta, Georgia, to Texas to spend the Christmas holidays at their relative Vishal’s house. Tragedy struck when they were returning from a zoo park. The victims, including Nageshwar Rao and his daughter, were residents of Atlanta, while the others hailed from Amalapuram in Andhra’s Konaseema district.
The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has offered assistance in repatriating the bodies of the deceased. The crash occurred on Highway 67, a farm-to-market road in Cleburne City, Texas.
