Six family members lost their lives in a traffic accident that took place in Johnson County, Texas, United States on December 26, just a day after Christmas.
The victims, who were all related to YSRCP Mummadivaram MLA, Ponnada Venkata Satish Kumar, were returning from a visit to a local zoo when their minivan was struck by a pickup truck carrying two young individuals.
The unfortunate incident claimed the lives of P Nageswara Rao (uncle of the MLA), Seetha Mahalakshmi, Naveena, Kruthik, and a child named Nishitha. The entire family was devastated by this sudden and tragic loss.
Survivor Airlifted for Critical Treatment
The sole survivor of the accident, Lokesh, was airlifted to a Fort Worth hospital where he is currently undergoing critical treatment. His condition remains unstable, and medical professionals are doing everything they can to ensure his recovery.
MLA Ponnada Venkata Satish Kumar shared his account of the incident, saying, “My uncle spent Christmas visiting a relative’s home. On December 26, they went to the zoo in the morning and left at 4 pm (local time). Their car was struck by a truck carrying two young people who were traveling the wrong way.”
The MLA further added, “We are making efforts to have the bodies of the deceased returned. However, since Lokesh is still receiving treatment, his agreement is required for two of them, who are American citizens by birth.”

Local police authorities have confirmed that the truck responsible for the collision was at fault. The two occupants of the truck also sustained injuries and have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
