Boy Disappears in East Los Angeles, Family Desperate for Answers

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 13-year-old boy named Oscar Eduardo Flores Sorta has gone missing in East Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has identified Sorta as a critically missing person, sparking concerns among his loved ones and the community.

The last known sighting of Sorta was on December 23, around 2 p.m., on the 900 block of South Downey Road. Since then, his family has had no contact with him, leading to growing worries about his well-being.

Sorta is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black denim pants, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.

In cases like these, a “critically missing person” is typically defined as someone who is in critical need of medical attention, a victim of a crime or foul play, someone who has no history of running away or disappearing, a victim of kidnapping or parental abduction, or a person who is mentally impaired and unable to care for themselves or poses a risk to their own safety and others.
