Authorities confirmed earlier that one individual had tragically been found deceased at approximately 6.15pm on Tuesday.

Subsequently, the bodies of two other passengers have been located and identified as a 48-year-old man from Alexandra Hills and a 69-year-old man from Meridan Plains.

In the morning, the third man, aged 59 and from Tingalpa, was also discovered deceased.

Among the victims, two have been identified as rugby personality David ‘Mario’ Logan and school teacher Stephen ‘Taity’ Tait.

The search and rescue efforts have now been called off, and authorities will be compiling a comprehensive report for the coroner.

These tragic deaths come in the wake of severe storms that have claimed the lives of two other individuals, including a young girl, in southeast Queensland.

The body of a nine-year-old girl was discovered on Tuesday evening after she was feared to have been swept away in stormwater drains in Rochedale South, Logan.

Another body, that of a 40-year-old woman, was found in the Mary River in Gympie.

These tragic incidents follow a previous storm-related fatality on Monday, in which a 59-year-old woman was fatally struck by a fallen tree on the Gold Coast.
