NASHVILLE, Tenn. – December 26, 2023

An individual from Oklahoma has been apprehended by the Hendersonville police after allegedly making threatening phone calls to both a hospital in Hendersonville and a hospital in Ohio, according to local authorities.

On December 26, officers promptly responded to the Hendersonville Medical Center following reports of threatening messages received by the facility. During the investigation, it was revealed that the caller made peculiar comments about various matters to the medical center.

The security office at the center informed the officers that the caller, growing increasingly frustrated, had made violent threats against individuals present at the facility.

Law enforcement quickly traced the call back to Oklahoma, confirming that the phone used was still in the same location. Interestingly, it was discovered that the caller had also contacted a hospital in Ohio before reaching out to the Hendersonville Medical Center.

The suspect involved in these incidents has been identified as Kyle Odell, a 45-year-old resident of Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

Thanks to the exceptional collaboration with the Lone Grove Oklahoma Police Department, the authorities were able to verify that Odell was indeed in the state of Oklahoma. Subsequently, a Hendersonville Detective obtained warrants on December 26, 2023, charging him with False Report (Threatening violence) and Harassment.

Kyle Odell was taken into custody on the same day and is currently being held as a fugitive from justice, pending extradition to Sumner County.

According to the police, there have been no apparent connections found between Kyle Odell and any entities within the state of Tennessee.

“These crimes were perpetrated over a long distance, but the geographical barrier does not impede the prosecution of serious offenses in Sumner County, TN. As always, it is crucial to remain vigilant of your surroundings and promptly alert the authorities if you come across any suspicious behavior,” stated the Hendersonville Police Department.
