Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli, the local police spokesperson, revealed that the victim has been identified as Sinah Bantjies. This tragic incident marks one of three cases of female murders reported in the area.

According to Kareli, the Kopanong Police received vital information about a body concealed within a shack in Caleb Motshabi. Law enforcement swiftly responded to the address, only to find the shack locked. However, they noticed drag marks leading towards a pit toilet. Upon inspection, they made the gruesome discovery of the victim’s body, tightly wrapped in sellotape and covered in mud.

Following a thorough investigation, detectives from Kopanong successfully traced and apprehended the suspect, who had attempted to flee the scene.

Upon arrival, members of the police force uncovered the bodies of two females, aged 91 and 66, lying on the bed. The neighbor made the horrifying discovery after noticing the absence of the 66-year-old, whom she had seen earlier that day in their yard.”

The victims were identified as 91-year-old Sarah Sentlholo and her 66-year-old daughter, Rebecca Moyetsane.

Kareli further added, “Initially, Kopanong Police opened two cases of inquest to facilitate further investigation. However, preliminary postmortem results revealed that both victims were brutally murdered. The 91-year-old woman succumbed to poisoning, while her daughter was mercilessly strangled to death.”
