TAXILA Man Shoots Dead Nephew and Injures Another over Land Dispute

TAXILA: A tragic incident unfolded in Mailwah village within the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station on Tuesday, as a man brutally shot his nephew to death and injured another individual during a heated dispute over land, according to the local police.

As per the victim’s family, a longstanding land dispute had been simmering between Muftah Din and his nephew, Ishfaq Shams.

The dreadful incident occurred on Tuesday morning when Ishfaq was diligently working in his field. Suddenly, Muftah arrived at the scene accompanied by his friends, and a verbal altercation ensued. The exchange of hot words escalated, leading Muftah to open fire on Ishfaq without hesitation, instantly snuffing out his life. Shahzad, another individual present at the scene, was also injured in the tragic episode. Promptly upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the location and promptly transported the injured and the deceased to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where an autopsy will be conducted.

Fatehjang police have promptly registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.

Murder Suspect Apprehended in Double Homicide Case

The Wah Cantonment Police announced on Tuesday that they have successfully apprehended a proclaimed offender (PO) who was wanted in connection with the double murder of two brothers.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Zahid Khan, allegedly stabbed Fazal Khan and Wahid Khan to death during a heated dispute over money at a stone crusher plant on July 9, 2021, before fleeing the scene.

Sources reveal that the victims and the accused are cousins.

Following the double homicide, the suspect went into hiding, subsequently being declared a proclaimed offender (PO) by a local court.

However, the relentless efforts of the police bore fruit as a team led by SHO Amir Rafeeq raided the suspect’s hideout and successfully apprehended him.

Abduction of Young Woman in Wah Cantonment

In a distressing incident reported within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police station on Tuesday, a 23-year-old woman was abducted.

According to Asad Mehmood, he reported to the police that his stepdaughter was en route to a relative’s house when she was forcefully taken away by unidentified individuals.

Police have promptly registered a case against the unknown abductors and have launched an extensive investigation to locate and secure the safe return of the abducted woman.
