A man has been arrested in connection with a murder that occurred in southeast Austin in the early hours of December 19th, according to court documents obtained by KXAN, a local news source in Austin. Disturbing 911 Call Leads to Discovery of Crime Scene

The incident came to light when the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call on the morning of December 19th at approximately 4:50 a.m. The call was made by a witness who had inadvertently left their phone on and placed it in their pocket. Dispatchers could hear distressing voices of a male and female, occasionally arguing. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene at around 4:57 a.m.

Son’s Testimony Adds New Dimension to the Case

A significant development in the case occurred when Villagran’s son arrived at the scene and spoke to the deputies. He revealed that he had driven his father from Kyle to an apartment complex located at 2005 Willow Creek Drive in Austin, early on the morning of December 19th, in an attempt to locate his mother. This vital information prompted the Austin Police Department to dispatch officers to the apartment complex.

Upon arriving at the complex, law enforcement officers discovered a body partially concealed by a concrete barrier. The victim, Jorge Ordonez-Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:44 a.m. by authorities.

Son Witnesses Disturbing Scene

The son’s testimony provided further insight into the events leading up to the murder. According to the affidavit, the son parked his vehicle further away from his mother’s car at the complex while his father proceeded to search for her on foot. While waiting for his father, the son heard two loud pops in the vicinity. Shortly after, he received a text from Villagran asking him to return to the mother’s car to help jumpstart it.

When the son returned to the vehicle, he witnessed his mother sitting in the front passenger seat, and a person lying on the ground next to the passenger side of the car. The individual appeared to be breathing but had blood on their face. In shock, the son asked Villagran what had happened, to which Villagran responded that he had knocked the person out. Villagran then requested his son’s assistance in jumpstarting the vehicle.

After successfully starting the car, the son observed Villagran dragging the body from the passenger side to the rear of the vehicle. The son, overwhelmed by the situation, returned to his own vehicle and left the scene.

Motives and Confession

During further investigation, Villagran was transported to the Austin Police Department homicide office, where he spoke with the authorities. He confessed to calling Perez approximately a month prior to the incident, accusing him of having a romantic relationship with his wife. In the same call, Villagran allegedly threatened Perez, stating, “if you don’t keep your distance, I will kill you,” according to the affidavit.

Villagran admitted to being aware that his wife’s car was parked at the Willow Creek Drive apartment complex due to a GPS device he had installed on her vehicle. He acknowledged asking his son to drive him to her location and admitted to bringing a handgun with him.

According to the affidavit, Villagran claimed that upon seeing his wife in the vehicle alongside Perez, he became overwhelmed with anger and shot Perez. When questioned about his motive, Villagran confessed it was driven by jealousy.

Legal Proceedings and Current Status

Villagran was promptly arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He was subsequently booked into the Travis County Jail on December 19th, with a bond set at $1 million, as confirmed by jail records.

As of now, no attorney has been listed for Villagran. In the event that legal representation becomes available, KXAN will seek their comment on the matter.
