Sources have confirmed that a local politician belonging to the PML-N party and an elected representative of the vegetable-fruit market in Islamabad were both gunned down in separate incidents. The assailants managed to escape the scenes of the crimes, prompting the police to launch a manhunt to apprehend them.

The first incident occurred when Babu Safdar, the President of the Vegetable-Fruit Market in Islamabad, was shot in the head by two unknown gunmen riding on a motorcycle. The attack took place as Babu Safdar was leaving a shed after attending an auction for tomatoes. The assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind a shocked and grieving community. The body of Babu Safdar was moved to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for an autopsy, according to sources. The police have registered a case against the accused and have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.

In another distressing incident of targeted killing, Malik Sardar Ghazanfar, a local leader affiliated with the PML-N party, was fatally shot by two assailants in Ghufanawala Village of Kallar Kahar. Malik Ghazanfar was attending a funeral prayer when the attackers struck. After committing the heinous crime, the assailants, one of whom has been identified as Sheraz Ahmed, managed to escape on a motorcycle. The elder brother of the deceased, Malik Hassan Sardar, lodged a complaint with the Kallar Syedan Police Station, stating that his brother was the victim of an old enmity. The police have registered a case and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter. The Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Rawalpindi Region, Syed Khurram Ali, took immediate notice of the murder incident and directed the District Police Officer (DPO) of Chakwal to apprehend the culprits.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayer for Malik Ghazanfar Sardar was held in Ghufanwala Village, where he was laid to rest in the family graveyard. The community mourned the loss of a respected leader and expressed their solidarity with the bereaved family.

In a separate incident, two children, Muhammad Khaldoon (12) and Minhaj Fatima (13), were reported missing from Warsi Market in Sohan. The distraught parents of the missing children approached the police and demanded immediate action against the kidnappers. Authorities are actively working to locate and rescue the abducted children.
