Junior Police Officer Found Dead in Tragic Incident at Ngusishi Police Post

A junior police officer, Corporal Simon Gitonga, was tragically discovered dead in his residence at Ngusishi police post, Meru County. The devastating incident occurred when he took his own life by shooting himself in the head. According to the police, his lifeless body was found on the morning of December 27, lying in a pool of blood within his house.

Colleagues of Corporal Simon Gitonga reported that they heard gunshots coming from his house, prompting them to investigate. To their shock, they found that he had used his AK47 rifle to shoot himself in the chin. Tragically, the bullet had gone through and exited his forehead, resulting in instant death.

During the investigation, the police discovered a suicide note within the house where Corporal Simon Gitonga lived alone. The note indicated that the deceased officer had been grappling with financial and family issues, shedding light on the potential factors contributing to his tragic decision.
