Assistant Director at Gettysburg College Identified as Victim of Fatal Crash in Adams County

The victim of a tragic car accident that occurred over the weekend on Route 15 in Adams County has been identified as Sara Gifford, an assistant director at Gettysburg College. The incident took place on Friday, December 22, near the intersection of Bonners Hill Road in Latimore Township at approximately 4 p.m. Sadly, Gifford, a 35-year-old resident of Dillsburg, lost her life in the crash.

According to Chief Deputy Coroner Francis Dutrow from the Adams County Coroner’s office, Gifford succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma resulting from the crash.

The Pennsylvania State Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, aiming to determine the factors that led to the fatal collision.

In an official email sent to the Gettysburg College community, President Bob Iuliano confirmed Gifford’s position as the Assistant Director of International Student Services at the college. Gifford, who recently joined Gettysburg College during the summer, had already made a significant impact within the short time she had been there, as stated in President Iuliano’s email.
