Susan Simmons Identified as Victim in Fort Worth Hit-and-Run Incident

Fort Worth, Texas – The woman who tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident in Fort Worth has been identified as Susan Simmons.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the incident occurred on International Parkway at the south exit from DFW Airport last week.

Simmons and another woman were leaving the airport on Thursday night when their vehicle slid off the road due to heavy rain, rolling down a muddy embankment near Highway 183.

Stranded in the mud, they immediately called for a tow truck. While waiting for assistance, a pickup truck suddenly collided with them, but shockingly, the driver fled the scene without stopping.

The impact of the collision sent both victims tumbling back down the embankment. Unfortunately, Susan Simmons succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner. The other victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities have identified the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident as a Toyota Tundra. Investigators have noted that the vehicle is missing its driver-side rearview mirror, which could serve as a crucial piece of evidence in identifying the responsible party.
