Bristol Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances on Christmas Day

BRISTOL — In a tragic incident on Christmas Day, Bristol police have released the identity of an 83-year-old woman who was found dead in a home under suspicious circumstances.

The deceased has been identified as Diana Jones, a resident of Bristol.

Investigation Ongoing

Bristol police initially refrained from disclosing the name and address of the deceased due to their ongoing investigation.

Authorities were summoned to a residence on Morningside Drive West in Bristol around 11:30 a.m. on Monday for a welfare check, following which they made a grim discovery.

Upon entering the home, police and firefighters found Diana Jones lifeless in a bedroom.

Suspicion Arises

Based on the circumstances at the scene, Bristol police have categorized the incident as a potential crime.

The property records indicate that Diana Jones owned a ranch-style home built in the early 1940s on Morningside Drive, near Pine Court.

Bristol police, in collaboration with state police, meticulously processed the scene on Monday evening. The New Britain State’s Attorney’s Office also lent their assistance to the investigation.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been called in to aid in the investigation. This office is responsible for determining the cause and manner of death in cases of premature deaths.
