Among the victims of this heart-wrenching accident were two children from Georgia.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the tragic incident took place around 4 p.m. on Tuesday near Cleburne in Johnson County, specifically on U.S. Highway 67 near County Road 1119.

The collision occurred when a family from Alpharetta, Georgia, was traveling north in a minivan, while two teenagers from Glen Rose, Texas, were heading south in a pickup truck.

DPS investigators revealed that the teens veered into oncoming traffic in a “no passing” zone, resulting in a devastating head-on collision with the minivan.

Tragically, six out of the seven occupants in the minivan lost their lives.

The driver of the minivan was identified as 28-year-old Rushil Barri from Irving.

The deceased victims included a 64-year-old male, a 60-year-old female, a 36-year-old female, a 10-year-old male, and a 9-year-old female, all hailing from Georgia. Their names will be disclosed once their family members in Georgia have been notified, as confirmed by DPS.

The sole survivor in the minivan was 26-year-old Lokesh Potabathula from Georgia, who sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment.

The two teenagers in the pickup truck were identified as 17-year-old Luke Resecker and 17-year-old Preston Glass. They also suffered critical injuries and were immediately transported to Fort Worth hospitals for medical care.

According to investigators, most of the individuals involved in this tragic accident were not wearing seatbelts, further emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety measures.

The speed limit in the area where the collision occurred is set at 70 miles per hour.
