Stamford, CT Police Identify Victim in Christmas Day Homicide

The Stamford Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred on Christmas Day. The 32-year-old male victim has been identified as Juan David Hernandez Velasco.

The investigation into the homicide is still ongoing, and the police have not released any further details at this time. Stamford residents are urged to come forward with any information they may have regarding the incident.

Stabbing Victim Found at Stamford Hospital

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Stamford Hospital contacted the police after a stabbing victim arrived at the emergency room for treatment. The victim, Velasco, had suffered multiple stab wounds and was dropped off at the hospital entrance by unidentified individuals.

Despite undergoing emergency surgery, Velasco tragically succumbed to his injuries while in the intensive care unit later that morning.

Connection Between Suspect and Victim Established

During the early hours of the morning, the patrol division noticed a second individual behaving recklessly on Broad Street. The individual was identified as 22-year-old Beimar Araujo-Ramirez.

Further investigation revealed a connection between Araujo-Ramirez and the stabbing victim. According to the police, both Araujo-Ramirez and Velasco had attended a party where a fight had taken place. Araujo-Ramirez claimed that he and others had driven Velasco to the hospital.

Witnesses have confirmed that the party occurred at a residence on Crystal Street and that the fight took place outside. The circumstances surrounding the altercation and the injuries that led to Velasco’s death are still under investigation.

Disorderly Conduct Charges Filed Against Araujo-Ramirez

Araujo-Ramirez has been charged with disorderly conduct due to his actions towards the two hosts of the party, who were tenants at the Crystal Street residence.
