A 25-Year-Old Man Found Dead at Scrap Godown in Delhi

New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was discovered lifeless at his scrap godown located in the Karawal Nagar area of Delhi, as reported by the police on Wednesday. The unfortunate incident came to light when Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital authorities contacted the police at approximately 6:23 p.m. on Tuesday to report the man’s demise. The victim, identified as Riyazul hailing from Muradabad (Uttar Pradesh), was known to operate a scrap godown situated in C-47, Gali No. 1, Mukund Vihar of Karawal Nagar.

According to Azim, an employee of Riyazul, a group of individuals including Rahim and Javed had visited the godown earlier that day. Azim overheard their conversation regarding a loan they had lent to Riyazul, demanding its immediate repayment.
After having lunch together, Azim went up to the terrace. Upon his return around 4:00 pm, he discovered Rahim and the others surrounding Riyazul, claiming that he had ingested something poisonous. They urgently transported Riyazul to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital on a scooter and then an auto-rickshaw. Sadly, upon arrival, the doctor pronounced him dead, shared the police.
The crime team and FSL team of the police visited the scene, following which Riyazul’s body was transferred to GTB hospital for a detailed post-mortem examination. The exact chain of events leading to Riyazul’s untimely demise remains unclear, stated the police officials.
Meanwhile, Rahim, Javed, and the other individuals who brought Riyazul to the hospital disappeared soon after the doctor declared him dead.
“Efforts are being made to trace and interrogate Rahim, Javed, and the others as we ascertain the exact sequence of events. They absconded after bringing Riyazul to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead,” revealed the police.
The cause of death will be established following the completion of the post-mortem examination. The deceased’s family has been notified, and further investigation into the matter is currently underway, added the authorities.
