MARION COUNTY, Florida – Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old Girlfriend

A 21-year-old suspect was apprehended on Wednesday by Marion County deputies in connection with the shooting death of his 17-year-old girlfriend on December 10. The accused, Saul Garcia Macias, had been on the run for over two weeks following the tragic incident.

The shooting occurred at a residence located in the 1000 block of NW 111th Court in Dunnellon, Florida. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered the lifeless body of Sofia Lugo, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
