Investigation Ongoing in Allegany Community Bank Robbery

ALLEGANY – The authorities are still investigating the robbery that took place at Community Bank on Friday. No significant updates have been reported thus far.

According to the New York State Police, an unidentified man allegedly entered the Community Bank located on Route 417 near the Walmart Plaza around 4 p.m. on Friday, brandishing a shotgun. The suspect fired the weapon inside the bank, causing panic among the customers and staff. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene, making his escape in a customer’s tan Buick that was parked in the bank’s parking lot. Law enforcement immediately initiated a search for the perpetrator in the areas surrounding Allegany and Olean.

Despite the efforts of the authorities, there have been no updates provided as of Monday night. Calls made to Troop A Public Information Officer James O’Callaghan remain unanswered, leaving the public eagerly awaiting any developments in the case.

Recent Criminal Incidents in the Region

Salamanca Police

  • Friday, 6:38 a.m. – Justin L. Decker, a 43-year-old resident of Salamanca, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor. Decker was released with an appearance ticket.
  • Sunday, 7:59 a.m. – Kaelyn A. Jimerson, a 27-year-old Salamanca resident, was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Salamanca City Court. Jimerson is currently being held pending arraignment.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

  • FREEDOM – Ashley M. Britt, a 38-year-old resident of Freedom, was arrested on December 19 at 9:11 p.m. The arrest was made on a felony bench warrant issued by Erie County Court. Britt has since been handed over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
  • LITTLE VALLEY – John D. Newark, a 40-year-old individual from Little Valley, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. These charges stem from a reported domestic incident. Newark was released on his own recognizance.
  • BUFFALO – Kyle D. Barber, a 35-year-old resident of Portageville, was arrested on Friday at 7:50 p.m. at the Erie County Holding Center. The arrest was made based on a warrant issued by Cattaraugus County Court. Barber has been released on his own recognizance.

New York State Police

  • RANDOLPH – A 12-year-old resident of Randolph was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a Class E felony. The charge relates to an incident reported on December 18. The youth was released with an appearance ticket.
  • AMITY – Kevin M. Bell, a 35-year-old from Andover, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a Class A misdemeanor. Bell was released with an appearance ticket.
  • AMITY – Irene L. McCormick, a 43-year-old resident of Andover, was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a Class A misdemeanor. McCormick was released with an appearance ticket.
  • OTTO – Xzavier M. Small, a 21-year-old Salamanca resident, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a Class A misdemeanor. Small was released with an appearance ticket.
  • FARMERSVILLE – Douglas P. Seymour, a 65-year-old from Cuba, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor. Seymour was released with an appearance ticket.

Pennsylvania State Police

  • PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – On Saturday at 5:43 a.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred on Route 6 near Fessenden Road. Valisha L. White, a 53-year-old from Philadelphia, was identified as the driver. Two individuals sustained suspected minor injuries in the incident.
