Three Tourists from Gujarat killed in Road Accident Due to Fog in Jaisalmer

Three tourists from Gujarat tragically lost their lives in a road accident caused by severe fog in Barmer district, Rajasthan. The incident occurred when the tourists were returning to Gujarat after enjoying their sightseeing in Jaisalmer.

On Monday morning, at approximately 7:00 am, a devastating collision took place about a kilometer before the Dhorimanna toll plaza. The tourists’ car collided with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision completely mangled the tourists’ car, leaving all four passengers trapped inside.

Local residents who witnessed the accident immediately rushed to the scene and alerted the police. They worked together to rescue the passengers from the wreckage and transported them to Dhorimanna hospital. Sadly, three of the tourists succumbed to their injuries, while one passenger sustained severe injuries and was referred to a hospital in Gujarat.

The police are currently investigating the accident and trying to identify the vehicle that collided with the tourists’ car. They are reviewing CCTV footage from the toll plaza to gather more information about the incident.

Eyewitness Account

Kesharam Poonia, an eyewitness, described the horrific scene. He stated that the accident occurred during extremely low visibility due to dense fog. When he arrived at the site, he found the tourists’ car badly mangled, with all four passengers trapped inside. With the help of ropes, they managed to extract the passengers from the front part of the car. The police arrived shortly after, providing further assistance and support.

Poonia highlighted the challenges they faced due to the fog and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased tourists.

Increasing Fog-Related Accidents

This unfortunate incident adds to the rising number of accidents caused by foggy conditions across the country. At least a dozen lives have been claimed in recent fog-related accidents. Dense fog has been wreaking havoc on road traffic in several states.

One particularly tragic incident occurred in Miryalaguda, Nalgonda district, where a Telangana family experienced two separate accidents on the same night. The police attributed both accidents to the dense fog, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including four relatives.

Fatal Collision Involving BMW Bike in Bengaluru

In another tragic incident, a collision between a BMW bike and a car at Ashoka Pillar junction in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, claimed the life of a 34-year-old man named Shaik Nausheer Ahmed. Ahmed, a used bikes dealer, was demonstrating the bike’s performance to a trader who had recently purchased another bike from him. Neither rider was wearing a helmet, and the impact of the collision resulted in Ahmed’s death. The pillion rider sustained injuries but is now out of danger.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of cautious driving and taking necessary precautions, especially during adverse weather conditions such as fog.
