Shortly after 10 p.m. on December 11, Sheriff’s Deputies received a crucial anonymous tip about the whereabouts of 41-year-old Theodeous Armstrong and 46-year-old William Little. The tip led them to a residence at 224 S. 15th, Independence, Kansas, as revealed by Sheriff Ron Wade.
Theodeous Armstrong had four outstanding warrants against him, including three for contempt of court and one for aggravated escape from custody. On the other hand, William Little had five outstanding warrants, with four related to failure to appear.
Deputies successfully confirmed the presence of both suspects inside the residence. However, despite repeated requests to exit peacefully, they refused to comply. In response, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was activated, and assistance was sought from the Coffeyville Police Department’s SWAT team.
Support from the Independence Police Department and Independence Emergency Services was also enlisted to ensure a coordinated effort. Using a loudspeaker, deputies continuously made announcements, urging the suspects to surrender. Eventually, both men agreed to come out of the residence without further incident. Theodeous and William were then taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
