Motorcyclist Fatally Shot in Westmoreland, Jamaica

WESTMORELAND, Jamaica – A motorcyclist was tragically killed by another individual while traveling along the Fullersfield main road in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Andino Reid, a 31-year-old man also known as ‘Dino’, originally from the Paul Island district in Grange Hill.

According to reports received by Observer Online, the incident occurred around 1:30 pm when Reid was riding his motorcycle along the main road and was unexpectedly attacked by two men riding another motorbike.

The pillion passenger on the second motorbike brandished a firearm and opened fire at Reid, striking him in the upper body. The impact caused Reid to lose control of his motorcycle, resulting in a collision with a perimeter fencing before falling to the ground.

The assailants swiftly fled the scene on their motorcycle. The police were immediately alerted and upon arrival, found Reid lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Reid was swiftly transported to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead. At the scene, investigators discovered six spent 9mm casings.

At this time, the police have not determined the motive behind the targeted killing.
