The accident occurred on Sunday night at mile marker 77 in Chippewa Falls Township, Pope County. Kliber was driving a 2010 Toyota Yaris, heading westbound on Highway 55, while an 18-year-old Willmar resident, Preston Koscheyev Linder, was driving a 2003 Honda Pilot in the opposite direction.

Tragically, the vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the fatal injuries sustained by Kliber. Linder, on the other hand, was fortunate to have only suffered non-life threatening injuries. Emergency services swiftly transported him to Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood for treatment.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. The Minnesota State Patrol’s accident report indicates that alcohol was not a factor for Linder, but it was for Kliber.

The accident occurred under wet road conditions, which may have contributed to the collision. It was reported to the authorities at 7:57 p.m. on Sunday.
