Police Apprehend Suspect Involved in Violent Assault

SANTA MONICA – The Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) has successfully apprehended a man believed to be responsible for an attempted homicide, following a violent assault in the city.

The incident took place on December 24th, at approximately 11:26 p.m., when SMPD officers swiftly responded to reports of an assault in progress at an apartment located in the 1300 block of 14th Street.

Upon arrival, officers were met with a distressing scene as they discovered a male resident suffering from severe facial injuries and multiple stab wounds to his forehead, neck, and back.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to provide a description of his assailant, who was known to him. Promptly, other officers were alerted by witnesses who had heard the altercation and recognized the attacker as Christopher Clay Williams, a 29-year-old individual.

Without encountering any resistance, law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended Williams in the 1300 block of Alley 14. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and booked into the Santa Monica Jail on charges of Attempted Homicide.

The victim, in critical condition, was promptly transported to a local hospital where he continues to receive medical treatment for his injuries.
