Tragic Accident on Northbound I-91 in Middletown Leaves One Dead and Several Injured
A devastating incident occurred on ramp 20 of northbound I-91 in Middletown, Middlesex County, at approximately 9:05 a.m. yesterday. Connecticut State Police reported that a collision took place between a 2007 Toyota Corolla and a 2019 Chrysler 300, resulting in severe consequences for those involved.

The unfortunate accident unfolded when the 2019 Chrysler 300 was traveling in the center lane of Three near the onramp, while the 2007 Toyota Corolla was in the right lane, adjacent to the Chrysler. Unexpectedly, the Corolla veered into the center lane and collided with the Chrysler, causing both vehicles to roll into the grassy median.
Regrettably, the collision claimed the life of Verona Facey, a 74-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York City, who was sitting in the right rear passenger seat of the Toyota. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene of the accident. Additionally, a 57-year-old woman from Brooklyn, also riding in the Toyota, sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyota, a 19-year-old man from Brooklyn, fortunately suffered only minor injuries. On the other hand, the driver of the Chrysler, a 53-year-old man from Worcester, Massachusetts, remained unharmed.
Following the tragic incident, both vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to the extent of the property damage caused by the accident. Connecticut State Police are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
