A 29-year-old Man Fatally Hit by XUV at Motor Market in Sector 48

A tragic incident occurred at Motor Market in Sector 48 on Monday, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man who was sitting on a chair. The victim, identified as Vikas Kumar, had come to the market to repair his car, a Kwid. The mishap took place around 5 pm, and the responsible driver, Sudesh Bhardwaj, a resident of Mundi Kharar in Mohali, was apprehended by the police. The XUV involved in the accident, bearing Chandigarh registration number, was also seized.

According to the police, eyewitness Gurwinder reported, “Vikas was sitting on a plastic chair when suddenly a man entered an XUV, which was already parked there, and started the engine. The driver of the XUV accelerated the vehicle, crushing Vikas under the front portion. People nearby raised an alarm, and Vikas was immediately rushed to GMCH-32. Tragically, the doctors at the hospital declared him dead.”

Private Security Supervisor Tragically Killed in Road Accident

A private security supervisor, identified as Mandeep Joshi, lost his life in a fatal road accident on Patiala Road in Zirakpur. The incident occurred on Monday, and the local police have registered a case in connection with the tragic accident.

Mandeep Joshi, a resident of Anand Bihar in Zirakpur, was working as a private security supervisor. His wife, Ashu, reported to the police that her husband had gone on duty on December 22 but did not return home after his shift. The following day, she received a call from an unidentified individual who informed her about the accident and Mandeep being taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector 32, Chandigarh.

Heartbroken and devastated, Ashu stated, “When I reached the hospital, the doctors declared him dead.”

Acting on Ashu’s complaint, the Zirakpur police have initiated an investigation and registered a case of death due to negligence and rash driving against an unidentified person. Further updates on this case will be provided as the investigation progresses.
