Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect in Southeast D.C. Shooting

Washington, D.C. – Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred in November last year. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is requesting any information that could lead to the arrest of Tremon Jackson, a 20-year-old resident of Southeast, D.C. A photo of the suspect has been released in hopes of generating leads.

The shooting incident took place on November 4, at approximately 3:45 p.m., in the 1400 block of L Street, Southeast. Upon receiving reports of gunfire, officers rushed to the scene where they discovered a man who had been shot. Despite immediate medical attention from DC Fire and EMS, the victim, identified as 22-year-old Charles Towles of Southeast, D.C., succumbed to his injuries.

After more than a month of investigation, authorities have identified Tremon Jackson as the alleged shooter. Jackson has been charged with second-degree murder while armed and is currently wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the DC Superior Court. Detectives have released a photo of Jackson in the hopes that someone may recognize him and provide crucial information.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Tremon Jackson is urged to contact the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch at (202) 727-9099. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by texting the department’s tip line at 50411.

This incident is part of a series of deadly shootings that have occurred in Southeast, D.C. in recent months. The police are working diligently to solve these cases and bring justice to the victims and their families.
