Sleeping 19-Year-Old Arrested for DUI in South Windsor, CT

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) – In a recent incident, law enforcement officers apprehended a 19-year-old individual who was found asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle, driving under the influence.

The suspect has been identified as Cameron J. McCloskey, a resident of Tolland.

Discovery of the Incident

While conducting regular patrols, an attentive officer noticed a car parked in the front lot of Oakland Road with its headlights still illuminated.

Field Sobriety Test and Arrest

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer quickly determined that the driver, McCloskey, was exhibiting signs of impairment. Consequently, the officer conducted standardized field sobriety tests, which McCloskey failed.

Realizing the potential danger this situation posed to both the driver and other road users, the officer promptly took McCloskey into custody.

Legal Proceedings and Release

Following his arrest, McCloskey was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond, pending further legal actions.

McCloskey’s case is scheduled to be heard in the Manchester Superior Court on January 8.
