13-Year-Old Boy Identified as Victim in Tragic Hit-and-Run Collision in Antioch

(KRON) — In a devastating incident that occurred on the Friday before Christmas, a 13-year-old boy has been identified as one of the victims in a fatal hit-and-run collision in Antioch. The young victim, Amahjè Emenike, was tragically killed along with another juvenile in this heartbreaking incident.

The Tragic Accident

The collision took place shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Friday when a black SUV traveling north on G Street collided with a blue vehicle heading east on West 6th Street. The impact was so severe that the SUV also crashed into a fire hydrant. Shockingly, the occupants of the SUV fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a scene of devastation and tragedy.

Fatal Consequences

Tragically, two children, aged 12 and 13, who were traveling in the blue vehicle, were rushed to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries. The loss of these young lives has left the community reeling in grief and mourning.

According to the Antioch Police Department, the fatal crash was caused by a combination of excessive speed and reckless driving.
