A tragic road accident occurred yesterday on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari Highway in Kaliganj upazila, resulting in the death of a woman and her son.
The victims have been identified as Rina Begum, 26, and her 2-year-old son Rayhan Hasan, residents of Kakina Maishamuri area in the upazila, according to local police.

Local residents rushed to the scene, rescued Monir, and admitted him to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Al-Amin Haque of Kaliganj police station confirmed the recovery of the bodies of the mother and son.
The truck involved in the accident was captured by the locals, but the driver and helper managed to escape from the scene, added SI Al-Amin Haque.
