Tragic Accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi District Claims Two Lives

Jammu, December 25 – In a devastating incident, a minibus carrying a joyful wedding party met with a tragic accident in the picturesque Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The mishap occurred early in the morning, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving twelve others injured. The incident took place near Dhamini when the bus, enroute from Balmatkote to Badar village, skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.

Immediate Rescue Operation Launched

As news of the accident spread, the local authorities promptly launched a rescue operation to save the victims trapped in the mangled bus. The local police, along with the help of nearby residents, swung into action to retrieve the injured and recover the bodies. Chassana Station House Officer, Suman Singh, informed that the rescue operation commenced immediately after the accident was reported at around 6 am.

Loss of Lives and Injuries

Tragically, the accident resulted in the loss of two lives. One of the deceased was identified as 25-year-old Mohd Ashraf, who was found dead at the accident site. Additionally, thirteen individuals, including nine young girls aged between three and 19 years, sustained injuries in the mishap. They were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.

Sad Demise of Tahir Ahmad

Among the injured, one young victim, 17-year-old Tahir Ahmad, fought bravely for his life but succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to Rajouri for specialized treatment. This heartbreaking loss has left the local community in deep sorrow and mourning.
