Taylor Orlowski, 18, and Jonathan Tourney, 14, tragically killed in car crash near North Park

McCandless, PA – Taylor Orlowski, 18, and Jonathan Tourney, 14, have been identified as the two teenagers who lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash in McCandless near North Park over the weekend. The incident occurred on December 23, around 3:20 am, when the vehicle they were in lost control on Irwin Road near Babcock Boulevard. The driver, an 18-year-old, was unable to regain control before the crash.

Tragically, Taylor Orlowski was pronounced dead at the scene, while Jonathan Tourney was flown to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Two unidentified passengers were also taken to the hospital and are currently in stable condition. The remaining two individuals in the car escaped without injuries.

She had won numerous competitions at both local and national levels in Equitation, Derbies, and Junior Hunter divisions, and she was idolized by many young riders. Houdini Farms expressed their grief and asked the community to keep Taylor’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The community is also rallying around Jonathan Tourney’s family. Jonathan, a ninth grader at Pine Richland High School, tragically lost his life in the crash. His neighbors have launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial assistance to his devastated mother. The campaign, which has already raised over $105,000, aims to help cover funeral expenses and other related costs. The fundraiser reveals that Jonathan’s father passed away seven months ago from a brain tumor, adding to the family’s heartbreak.

Pine-Richland High School issued a statement expressing their condolences and announcing that school counselors, psychologists, and Glade Run clinicians will be available to support students when they return to class on January 3. The school emphasized the importance of focusing on supporting the families affected by this tragedy and asked the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
