Man Fatally Shot on Christmas Eve in Augusta, Georgia
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Tragedy struck on Christmas Eve night when a man was fatally shot in Augusta. The incident occurred on the 2300 block of Boykin Road, leaving the local community in shock.
The victim has been identified as Steve Luke, 36 years old, according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office. Luke’s life was tragically cut short in the late hours of Christmas Eve.
Authorities were alerted to the shooting at 11:41 p.m., and emergency services promptly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. Luke was immediately transported to Wellstar MCG, a local medical facility, but despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at 12:34 a.m. on Christmas Day.
