Accident – death – Obituary News : Redwood City Man Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles in San Carlos Accident on El Camino Real
San Carlos, Calif. – A tragic incident occurred in San Carlos on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 69-year-old Redwood City man. According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place at approximately 6:57 a.m. on December 24, in the 1400 block of El Camino Real.

The sheriff’s officials revealed that the victim was crossing the road when he was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man from Redwood City. Furthermore, another vehicle, whose driver fled the scene, also struck the pedestrian. Despite receiving immediate CPR from paramedics, the man tragically succumbed to his injuries at the accident site.
Subsequently, law enforcement authorities were able to locate the driver who had fled from the scene. The suspect, identified as 66-year-old Hok Gwan Jong from San Mateo, was apprehended near Harris Avenue and Adams Street in Redwood City. Jong was taken into custody and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of hit-and-run.
Currently, the accident is under investigation as authorities work diligently to determine the circumstances that led to this fatal collision.
